A lighter body weight means the 2017 Land Rover Discovery can now accommodate four-cylinder engines. Hence, it gets a 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel mill that churns 237bhp of maximum power and 500Nm of whooping torque. Then there is also a 3.0-litre V6 petrol and even a diesel. Petrol churns about 336bhp, while the diesel has an army of 255 horses. There is no hiding that the new Discovery shall get a 5.0-litre V8 on an SVR version that should be crafted by JLR’s SVO department. At the same time, a hybrid too is in the making. The Land Rover Discovery is a very practical car being the most capable amongst its competitors which are the Audi Q7, Volvo XC90, Mercedes GLS and the BMW X5. It might not be the best in terms of performance among the competition but really gives you more value than the money spent on buying it. The features provided are also unique.
